NLO Awards Points to Jaguar FC After Match Disruption

The Nigeria Nationwide League Organization (NLO) awarded Jaguar FC three points and three goals following an incident during a match against Abakaliki Feeder at Ngene Oruta Stadium in Abakaliki. The game was disrupted by thugs who encroached onto the pitch, forcing the referee to halt the match.

After a delay, the match officials returned, and a late penalty was awarded to Abakaliki Feeder. The NLO described the scene as embarrassing, especially since the game was being broadcast live.

As a consequence of the disruption, Abakaliki Feeder was fined N500,000, which they must pay before their next match in the ongoing season. The NLO cited Article 4.3.1 of its statutes to justify the awarding of points and goals to Jaguar FC.
