Eric Chel Denies Wydad Casablanca Coaching Agreement

Eric Chel, a former Mali international, has reportedly reached an agreement to join Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca, as claimed by the Moroccan television station Le7TV. The report suggests that Chel will replace the local handler, Amin Benhachem.

However, the media office of the Super Eagles has swiftly reacted to this news, labeling the report as false. Chel has been linked with several top clubs across Africa and Europe and is currently associated with the Super Eagles, who are positioned third in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 48-year-old coach has recently denied applying for a coaching position with Ligue 1 giant Olympique Marseille, where he holds a contract with Nigeria until January 2027.
