IPOB Warns Against APC Candidate Imposition in Abia

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has strongly warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) against plans to impose candidates in Abia State for the upcoming 2027 general elections. In a statement released on Sunday, Osinachi Obi, the Southeast Welfare Coordinator for IPOB, accused APC leaders of attempting to control the political structure in Abia through undemocratic methods.

The group emphasized that it would resist any such imposition, which they believe could lead to political unrest and chaos in Biafraland. IPOB specifically called out Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, and lawmaker Chris Nkwonta for allegedly promoting division within their constituencies for personal political gain.

The group asserted that Abia State does not recognize political godfathers and warned against any attempts to ignite conflict that would undermine the citizens' choice in the electoral process. IPOB concluded by stating that it would closely monitor APC's actions in the Southeast and would not tolerate any efforts to destabilize the region.
