Super Eagles Retain 26th FIFA Ranking, Miss World Cup

The Nigerian senior men's football team, known as the Super Eagles, has maintained its FIFA ranking at 26th globally and 3rd in Africa, as per the latest release on March 26. This ranking comes after their participation in the 2025 AFCON held in Morocco, where they finished third.

Unfortunately, the Super Eagles will not be part of the 48 teams competing in the 2026 World Cup scheduled to commence in North America in June. In their recent international friendlies, the Super Eagles narrowly lost to Iran 2-1 and drew 2-2 with Jordan.

In the African rankings, they are positioned behind Morocco, which is ranked 8th globally, and Senegal, which has dropped to 14th. The top ten African teams include Algeria, Egypt, Côte d'Ivoire, Tunisia, Cameroon, Congo DR, and Mali.

France has reclaimed the top spot in the FIFA rankings, overtaking Spain, while Argentina is ranked 3rd.
