FCT Police Deny Claims of Kidney Sales in Nyanya

On August 26, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command issued a statement denying a viral report that claimed young residents in Nyanya were selling their kidneys for financial gain. The allegations suggested that an agent in Mararaba was involved in purchasing human kidneys, which caused public concern after being shared on social media.

SP Josephine Adeh, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, clarified that the police had not received any reports or confirmed any incidents related to the illegal sale of human organs in Nyanya or Mararaba. The FCT Police Command emphasized that there is no verified information supporting the claims and warned the public against spreading unverified information that could incite fear and panic.

The police urged citizens to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities rather than rely on unconfirmed social media posts.
