Nollywood Actor Olaide Olabanji Endorses Peter Obi for 2027

Nollywood actor Olaide Olabanji has expressed his support for Peter Obi, the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the upcoming 2027 presidential election. In a post on his Instagram page, Olabanji encouraged Nigerians to prioritize effective leadership rather than ethnic considerations when selecting their political leaders.

He referenced the military regimes of former Heads of State Yakubu Gowon and Murtala Muhammed to illustrate that the duration of a leader's tenure does not equate to their effectiveness. Olabanji stated, “If someone can destroy a country in three years, with ease, another person can make it better,” emphasizing the importance of leadership qualities.

He pointed out that while Gowon ruled Nigeria for nine years, Gen. Murtala Muhammed made significant improvements in just six months. Olabanji concluded by questioning why Nigerians would support a leader from their tribe if they cannot provide a better life, advocating for Peter Obi as a candidate who could offer a brighter future.
