Modibbo Defends North Against Marginalization Claims

In an interview with Trust TV, former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Aliyu Modibbo addressed allegations of marginalization concerning the northern region of Nigeria. He asserted that the northern part is not marginalized, countering claims made by some individuals regarding the appointment of ministers from the region.

Modibbo highlighted that each state has the constitutional right to nominate its representatives for ministerial positions. He pointed out that the distribution of federal allocations and interventions is conducted fairly, and that the President does not discriminate against northern governors in these matters.

Modibbo's remarks were made in response to questions about the perceived lack of representation for the north in the federal executive council, emphasizing that every state is entitled to its share of federal resources and representation.
