NW Youth Coalition Urges Tinubu to Address Insecurity

The North West Youth Unity Forum (NWUF), comprising youth groups from the seven states of North-west Nigeria, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take urgent measures to tackle insecurity and economic hardship in the region. In a statement issued on Friday by the chairman and convener, Hon. Murtala Ishaka Jangebe, the coalition expressed that Northern Nigerians are experiencing severe economic difficulties and would only support candidates who demonstrate a genuine commitment to addressing their needs.

The Forum specifically pointed to the removal of fuel subsidy as a catalyst for rising living costs and urged the Tinubu administration to implement interventions to alleviate these challenges. They demanded immediate and decisive action to end the ongoing violence, including killings, banditry, and kidnappings, which have plagued Northern Nigeria.

The group emphasized that the lives and security of citizens must be prioritized and warned that mere political visits without tangible governance outcomes would no longer suffice. They insisted that before seeking support for the 2027 elections, President Tinubu must address hunger, hardship, and insecurity in the region.
