Modibbo Critiques Northern Governors Forum's Effectiveness

In an interview with Trust TV, Aliyu Modibbo, a former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), criticized the Northern Governors Forum, labeling it as merely a "tea party." He expressed concerns regarding the forum's primary function, which he described as social fraternization rather than a cohesive effort to address pressing security issues in the Northwest. Modibbo pointed out that despite the severe security challenges, particularly along the Kaduna-Abuja route, the forum has not effectively united the region to tackle these problems.

He noted that the ongoing insecurity has significantly impacted travel and safety in the Federal Capital Territory and surrounding areas. Modibbo also referenced the G6 initiative, which included federal institutions aimed at coordinating efforts to address security concerns, emphasizing the necessity of a collaborative approach to improve security in Abuja and its surrounding regions.
