Norway's NFF Demands Infantino's Resignation from FIFA

The Norwegian Football Federation (NFF), under the leadership of Lise Klaveness, has officially called for the resignation of FIFA president Gianni Infantino. Klaveness stated that Infantino lacks the institutional trust necessary to lead FIFA effectively in the current climate, declaring, “There is no turning back for Gianni Infantino.” This announcement was made on Friday, following a meeting of the NFF's governing bodies, which discussed the future of the FIFA president amid growing criticism.

Infantino, who has been president of FIFA since 2016 and is the only declared candidate for re-election next March, must secure a majority of the 211 votes from FIFA's member organizations to continue in his role. The deadline for candidates to declare is November 18.

Infantino has faced significant pressure recently due to the failure of his proposal to allow private investors into FIFA competitions, including the World Cup.
