Orjan Nyland Rejoins RB Leipzig on 2028 Contract

RB Leipzig announced the re-signing of Norway goalkeeper Orjan Nyland on a contract that extends through 2028. The 35-year-old player returns to Leipzig as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Sevilla at the end of June.

Nyland had previously played on loan at Leipzig during the 2022-23 season. He gained recognition for his performance during Norway’s historic World Cup run, notably saving a penalty from Brazil’s Bruno Guimaraes in a dramatic 2-1 victory in the last-16 round.

Expressing his enthusiasm about returning, Nyland stated, “When the opportunity arose to return to RB Leipzig, I didn’t have to think twice. I have many positive memories of the club and the people here, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them again.” Throughout his career, Nyland has also played for Molde, FC Ingelstadt, Aston Villa, and Reading, and has made 76 appearances for the Norway national team.
