APC Confident of Victory in Osun Governorship Election

Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declared the party's confidence in winning the governorship election in Osun State scheduled for August 15, 2026.

This statement was made during the inauguration of the APC Governorship Campaign Council in Abuja, which included party leaders, governors, and National Assembly members. Yilwatda emphasized the APC's political experience, organizational strength, and extensive network, asserting that no other party in Nigeria can match its number of elected officials.

He described the Osun election as a crucial test for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections, indicating that it would serve as a rehearsal for future contests. Yilwatda announced plans for aggressive grassroots mobilization to garner voter support.

Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State, was appointed as the chairman of the campaign council, which is tasked with coordinating the party's efforts in the upcoming election.
