APC Risks Disintegration in Niger State Before 2027

Ibrahim Idri, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State, expressed concerns that the party could lose its political strength in the state by the 2027 elections if internal crises are not resolved. Idri, who previously served as a senior aide to former Governor Sani Bello, made an urgent appeal to President Bola Tinubu, the national chairman of the APC, to intervene swiftly to prevent the party from breaking apart.

He stated that the actions of a few individuals are jeopardizing the party's future, claiming that there may be nothing substantial left of the APC in Niger State by 2027. Idri emphasized that the party belongs to the people and not to individual interests, warning that grassroots leaders are considering leaving the APC due to feelings of alienation.

He noted that consultations have already taken place among community leaders and political stakeholders, indicating a potential coalition across various political interests.
