Women Affairs Minister Confirms Walida's Age at 22

The Women Affairs Minister, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, confirmed that Walida Abdulhadi is 22 years old, as verified by the National Population Commission.

This disclosure was made on Thursday in Abuja, following a report from the Department of State Services (DSS) that released Walida and her newborn baby. Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Umar Namadi, addressed journalists after a private session with Walida at the DSS headquarters.

The Minister emphasized the Nigerian government's commitment to protecting the rights of citizens, particularly vulnerable individuals such as women and children. She stated that Walida's safety remains a priority, and the government is dedicated to ensuring her well-being amid credible threats to her life.

The Nigerian Medical Association has been involved in assessing Walida's health and safety. The Minister also pledged that an investigation will be concluded within the framework of Nigerian law, which will inform subsequent legal actions regarding Walida's welfare and access to appropriate support services.
