NRC Sees Surge in Passenger Turnout with 50% Discount on Train Fares

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has seen a surge in passenger traffic across major rail corridors following the commencement of a 50% discount on train services for the festive season. The discount, aimed at easing the cost of festive travel, has led to increased patronage on key standard gauge routes like Lagos-Ibadan, Abuja-Kaduna, and several narrow gauge lines nationwide.

NRC's spokesperson, Callistus Unyimadu, confirmed the fare reduction initiative, aligning with President Bola Tinubu's agenda to reduce transport costs and promote inclusive mobility. NRC's management director, Kayode Opeifa, assured passengers of safe and efficient services during the holiday period.
