Super Falcons Receive WAFCON Rewards in Morocco

The Super Falcons, Nigeria's women's national football team, received their promised rewards from the Federal Government following their victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The presentation took place in Rabat, Morocco, on Tuesday, just before Nigeria's opening match against Malawi in the 2026 WAFCON.

Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, presented the rewards alongside Dr Mohammed Sanusi, General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, and team captain Rasheedat Ajibade. The rewards included title documents for houses promised to each player, national honours certificates, and a cash reward of $100,000 for each player and $50,000 for each member of the technical crew.

President Bola Tinubu had announced these rewards after the Falcons' historic win over Morocco in the final, where they came back from two goals down to win 3-2. The cash rewards were reportedly paid earlier, while the housing documents and certificates were presented during the team's assembly for the title defence.
