NSCDC Arrests Two for Vandalism in Kwara State

On July 10, 2023, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) apprehended two suspects, Ishaq Kazeem, 43, and Abubakar Jubril, 41, for allegedly vandalizing electrical materials belonging to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in Kwara State. The arrests were announced by Abba Moham, the NSCDC Commandant in Kwara, during a statement issued on Tuesday.

The operation, which was intelligence-led, took place in the Zango area near the Ok Andi junction and Bravo filling station in Ilorin. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had unlawfully removed brand new electrical equipment from a TCN regional store in Jebba, intending to sell it as scrap.

The NSCDC recovered several exhibits at the scene, including a DAF truck and a mini truck, along with heavy-duty electrical materials. Moham emphasized the command's commitment to combating economic sabotage and ensuring that all individuals involved in such criminal activities are brought to justice.
