NSCDC Arrests Bala Abubakar for Trafficking Girls
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested Bala Abubakar, a native of Zurmi Local Government Area, for the alleged trafficking of two girls, Amira Baje Ibrahim and Haulatu Shaibu, also from Zurmi. The arrest occurred in the Lalan area of Gusau, as stated by NSCDC state command’s spokesman, Umar Mohammad.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the girls were allegedly taken from Shinkafi Local Government Area and were being transported to meet two individuals, Hadiza and Bara’atu, known as Yar Baba, in Suleja, Niger State. NSCDC Commandant Sani Mustapha confirmed that the operation followed the corps’ operational procedures and involved collaboration with other security agencies.
He directed that the case be handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation and appropriate action. The NSCDC reiterated its commitment to combating criminal activities and urged public support in the fight against crime.
