NSCDC Arrests Victor Barry for Minor Trafficking Case
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested Victor Barry for allegedly trafficking a minor to Mali. The case was reported by the victim's mother to the NSCDC's Amoyo Division on October 9 and later transferred to the state headquarters in Ilorin.
Barry reportedly met the teenager on October 5 at his shop, where he offered to arrange employment for her in Senegal. He took her to Lagos on October 7 and handed her over to an unidentified person at Mile 2 for transportation abroad.
Barry claimed the girl arrived in Mali on October 12, stating that an agent named Joy had changed her destination to Mali. The NSCDC is investigating the case to ensure the girl's safe return.
In a separate operation, Bello Maruf was arrested on October 13 for operating an unauthorized medical facility and performing abortions without a valid license. Preliminary investigations revealed Maruf admitted to performing multiple abortions but could not provide any medical qualifications.
He will be charged in court after investigations conclude.
