NSCDC Seizes 45,000 Litres of Adulterated Diesel in Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, impounded a truck suspected of carrying 45,000 litres of adulterated Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) mixed with gas condensates. This seizure occurred during an inspection on Tuesday at approximately 1645 hours along Awka Road, Onitsha.
NSCDC State Commandant Maku Olatunde reported that the driver abandoned the truck and fled upon noticing the NSCDC team. The operation was led by the Head of the Anti-Vandalism Squad, CSC Chris Nwosu, who utilized credible intelligence to track and intercept the vehicle.
The NSCDC has taken the truck and its contents to the State Command Headquarters in Awka for safe custody and further investigation. Olatunde emphasized the Corps' commitment to eradicating oil theft and illegal dealings in petroleum products, assuring that samples would be analyzed and efforts to apprehend the fleeing driver and accomplices would continue.
