NSCDC Seizes 45,000 Litres of Adulterated Diesel in Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, seized a truck suspected of carrying 45,000 litres of adulterated Automotive Gas Oil mixed with gas condensates. NSCDC State Commandant Maku Olatunde announced the seizure during a press briefing at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Awka on Wednesday.

The truck was intercepted on Tuesday at approximately 1645 hours along Awka Road, Onitsha, following credible intelligence that led the Head of the Anti-Vandalism Squad, CSC Chris Nwosu, and his team to the location. Upon noticing the NSCDC team, the driver abandoned the truck and fled.

The NSCDC towed the truck and its contents to the State Command Headquarters for safe custody and further investigation. Olatunde reiterated the corps' commitment to eradicating oil pipeline vandalism and illegal dealings in petroleum products, assuring that samples would be analyzed and efforts to apprehend the fleeing driver would continue.
