NSCDC Rescues 15-Year-Old from Libya Trafficking Attempt

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) successfully rescued a 15-year-old girl from an alleged trafficking attempt to Libya. The operation took place in Abuja, with the NSCDC's spokesperson, Monica Ojobi, announcing the rescue on Friday.

The girl had been in the custody of a 46-year-old suspect for two weeks before her rescue, which followed a missing person report filed by her mother. Preliminary investigations indicated that the victim had suffered sexual abuse while in the suspect's custody.

Further interrogation revealed the suspect's plans to traffic the minor to Libya for child labor. The NSCDC, under the leadership of Olusola Odumosu, is collaborating with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons to ensure justice and dismantle the networks enabling such crimes.

The agency urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements involving children to combat human trafficking.
