Philip Nyam Receives Excellence Award in Legislative Reporting

Philip Nyam, the Director General of One Voice, New Era, was honored with the Excellence in Legislative Reporting award by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council. The award was presented during the 2026 NUJ FCT Press Week lecture held at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.

Comrade Grace Ik, the first female chairman of the NUJ FCT, recognized Nyam's incisive and dispassionate reporting on parliamentary matters, which has contributed significantly to public understanding of the legislative process. She emphasized that Nyam's work sets a benchmark for accuracy and courage in legislative reporting.

Nyam dedicated the award to the One Voice, New Era campaign and acknowledged the importance of holding society, particularly parliament, accountable. He expressed gratitude for good health and strength to continue his journalistic duties.

Comrade Grace Ik commended the NUJ FCT Council for their leadership and support for journalists, highlighting the unprecedented developments within the union.
