NUJ Inspects Army Base Development in Benue State

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), under the leadership of State Council Chairman Bemdoo Ugber, conducted an inspection of proposed Army base development projects in Benue State. The inspection focused on the renovation of the old NRC building, which is being converted into a temporary operational base for the Army.
Ugber expressed satisfaction with the renovation quality and urged local residents to collaborate with security agencies to safeguard the facility. He appealed to the Oju Local Government Council, led by Chairman Jackson Adah Ominyi, to provide additional temporary structures to support military operations.
The establishment of the new Army base aims to enhance troop presence, improve response times to security threats, and protect lives and property in Oju and surrounding areas. Additionally, the NUJ delegation inspected various development projects executed by the Oju Local Government Council, including the Oju–Awajir Road project and the construction of a police post in Idelle.
Ugber emphasized that the NUJ's tour aimed to document achievements and promote accountability.
