NUJ and NAWOJ Call for Smooth Osun Governorship Election

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) have jointly urged for a smooth and hitch-free governorship election in Osun State, which is set to take place in August. This call was made in a communiqué issued at the end of a leadership retreat held from July 16th to 18th at Ilaji Hotel and Sport Resort in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The retreat was co-hosted by the NUJ and NAWOJ, with the theme focusing on sustaining the future of journalism. The communiqué was signed by Dr.

Mr. Abimbola Oyetund, Deputy National President of NUJ, Comrade Aderonk Samo, Vice President of NUJ B-Zone, and Comrade Adeola Adekunle, Vice President of NAWOJ B-Zone.

The organizations also commended the peaceful conduct of the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election and called on stakeholders to ensure a similar process in the Osun polls.
