NYSC DG Praises Abia Government for Support Initiatives

Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), praised the Abia State Government for its significant support during a courtesy visit to Governor Dr Alex Otti in Umunu, Umuehim, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area. Nafiu acknowledged the renovation of the Orientation Camp, the establishment of a new Secretariat complex to improve NYSC operations, and the increase in Corps Members' allowances.

He noted that Abia is a peaceful state with a higher number of female Corps Members compared to males and highlighted that Corps Members are serving in every local government area in the state. Nafiu urged the state government to implement the revised allowances and continue the renovation of the Orientation Camp.

Governor Otti congratulated Nafiu on his appointment and expressed satisfaction with the 8,890 Corps Members currently serving in Abia, requesting the deployment of more Corps Members to the state.
