NYSC Director-General Advocates Digital Certification Shift
At the 2026 NYSC Certification Officers’ workshop in Abuja, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Nafiu, called on staff to enhance their competencies in digital certification to improve operational efficiency and service delivery. He announced plans for the NYSC to transition to an electronic records management system, highlighting the importance of adopting technological solutions, including biometric identification for issuing Certificates of National Service.
Nafiu, represented by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mrs. Grace Ogbuogebe, directed the migration of paper-based certificate production to an Electronic Documents and Records Management System (EDRMS). He stated that a comprehensive digital archive would facilitate prompt record retrieval, improve accountability, and protect vital documents.
Nafiu stressed the need for collective efforts to safeguard the integrity of the NYSC certification process and to remain vigilant against challenges such as certificate forgery, discrepancies, and delays in issuance.
