NYSC Disowns Fake Notice on Redeployment Window

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) disowned a viral notice on Friday that falsely claimed a special redeployment window for corps members was open. The fraudulent notice, titled “URGENT NOTICE: NYSC REDEPLOYMENT,” was addressed to “Parents/Guardians” and suggested that the redeployment was available due to “issues of National Security, Health, and State of the Nation.” It urged corps members with genuine grounds to apply promptly for safety and proper placement.

The NYSC National Directorate Headquarters flagged the notice on its verified X handle, @officialnyscng, labeling it as “Disclaimer” and marking it with a bold “FAKE NEWS” watermark. The identities of those behind the fake notice were not disclosed.

The NYSC, led by Director-General Olakunle Nafiu, reiterated that deployment and redeployment requests are exclusively managed through its official portal and offices, warning against unauthorized agents or phone-based processing. Corps members and the public are advised to verify any NYSC communications through official channels before taking action.
