Obi Demands Investigation into Alleged Military Raid

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and a member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged the Nigerian military high command to conduct a thorough investigation into allegations of a military raid on student hostels at Osun State University, Osogbo. Reports indicate that soldiers allegedly invaded the hostels, assaulted students, and subjected female students to degrading treatment, including rape.

Obi expressed deep concern over these allegations in a statement posted on his Facebook page, emphasizing that every Nigerian deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. He stressed that the military, known for its courage and discipline, should not engage in barbaric acts against citizens they are sworn to protect.

Obi called for the investigation to be conducted transparently and impartially, urging that anyone found culpable should be brought to justice. He also highlighted the importance of protecting the integrity and reputation of the armed forces while ensuring that such actions serve as a deterrent against future misconduct.
