Speaking after completing the nomination inquiry form at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja, Obi highlighted the pressing security and economic challenges facing Nigeria.

He questioned whether political leaders demonstrate the sound judgment necessary to confront the country's multiple crises. Obi's remarks were prompted by a question in the INEC form regarding candidates' mental fitness, which he used to reflect on the broader state of leadership in Nigeria.

He argued that the focus should be on finding solutions to national issues rather than allowing political competition to dominate discourse. Obi also called for greater transparency in the electoral process, suggesting that INEC should make public the academic credentials of candidates seeking office.
