Crisis in Obi-Kwankwaso Movement Ahead of 2027 Elections

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate promoted by the Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement for the 2027 election, is reportedly unhappy due to a growing leadership dispute within the group, as revealed by Ladipo Johnson, spokesman for former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso. Johnson acknowledged that tensions have surfaced but characterized the situation as a temporary setback rather than a significant threat to the movement's political objectives.

He explained that the disagreement arises from differences among members and the leadership, cautioning against actions that could create divisions among supporters. Johnson disclosed that Obi had been briefed on the situation and expressed his displeasure.

Despite the current disagreement, he expressed confidence that all issues would be resolved before political activities intensify ahead of the election season. The OK Movement aims to mobilize support for a potential alliance between Obi and Kwankwaso, attracting members from various opposition blocs.
