Cleric Predicts Obi's Win in 2027 Election with Caveats

Apostle Leicht Neilson, an Abuja-based cleric, made a bold claim regarding the 2027 Nigerian presidential election in a Facebook post on September 7, 2026. He stated that he had received a vision indicating that Obi would win the election.

Neilson, who has been seeking divine guidance on Nigeria's elections since 2007, recalled previous predictions about the late Umaru Musa Yar'Adua and Bola Tinubu. However, he cautioned that while Obi might be declared the winner, he was uncertain if he would maintain that victory through the final declaration of results.

Neilson identified an unnamed candidate as a more significant threat to Obi than the current president, Bola Tinubu, suggesting that this rival could challenge the election results in court, which he described as the candidate's "last chance." Neilson distanced his prophecy from political commentary and submitted it to God, referencing Bible passages, including Amos 3:7 and 2 Peter 1:21. Obi, who served as governor, resigned from the ADC on May 2, 2026, and was ratified as the presidential candidate of the NDC on May 29, 2026.
