Tolu Arokodare Joins Ajax on Loan from Wolves

Tolu Arokodare, a Super Eagles striker, has officially joined Ajax Amsterdam on a season-long loan from Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers for the 2026/27 season. The deal includes an option for Ajax to make the transfer permanent if Arokodare performs well.

This move follows a difficult first season for Arokodare at Wolves, where he scored only three goals and provided one assist in 33 league appearances. He struggled to secure a regular starting position after joining Wolves from KRC Genk, where he had an impressive season, finishing as the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League during the 2024/25 season.

Ajax aims to enhance their attacking options with Arokodare, who is expected to adapt to their playing style and contribute to both domestic and European competitions. Additionally, regular first-team football at Ajax could improve Arokodare's chances of being a consistent member of the Super Eagles squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
