OGEPA Inspects Metal Recycling Industry for Compliance

Kehind Bello, the General Manager of the Ogun State Environment Protection Agency (OGEPA), made an unscheduled visit to a metal recycling industry located in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area. The inspection aimed to ensure strict compliance with environmental regulations across the state.

During the unannounced visit, Bello assessed the company's adherence to environmental laws, particularly in areas such as pollution control and waste management. He conducted a comprehensive tour of the facility, examining the company's product processes, waste disposal methods, air emission control measures, and overall environmental management practices to ascertain compliance with existing environmental standards.

Bello reiterated OGEPA's commitment to protecting the environment and public health through regular monitoring and enforcement activities. He emphasized that routine unscheduled inspections have become an integral part of the agency's strategy to promote environmental responsibility among industrial operators in Ogun State, encouraging them to obtain necessary environmental permits and implement effective pollution prevention measures.
