Sanwo-Olu's Chief of Staff Honors Late Actor Ogogo

Tayo Ayinde, the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, visited the family of the late veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, on a condolence visit in Ilaro. This visit was organized by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, with Ayinde describing Ogogo as a cultural icon who significantly promoted Yoruba identity, language, and values through his decades-long career in film and theatre.

Ogogo passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer and was buried the following day in Ilaro, Ogun State. During the visit, Ayinde expressed condolences to Ogogo's widow and family, acknowledging the pain of losing a loved one.

He emphasized that Ogogo's legacy would continue to resonate in Nigeria's entertainment and cultural sectors, particularly through his impact on Yoruba-language productions. Ayinde prayed for the family’s strength and comfort during their time of grief and highlighted the importance of Ogogo's contributions to indigenous-language cinema in Nigeria.
