APC Suspends Ogun Aspirant Abayomi Hunye Amid Controversy

Abayomi Hunye, a governorship aspirant for the 2027 election representing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, has publicly condemned the party for suspending him. In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Hunye questioned the legitimacy of his suspension, which he claims occurred on April 7, while the party accepted N50 million from him for a nomination form on April 28.

He stated that he completed the necessary documentation and passed the screening process, where he was listed as number 52. Despite his claims, the APC has reaffirmed Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, as the officially recognized candidate for the governorship position.

Hunye emphasized that he received both the nomination form and the expression of interest form, asserting that he has the receipt to prove his transaction with the party.
