Ogun APC Crisis Deepens as Hon. Sosanwo Resigns

Hon. Adeola Ayoola Sosanwo, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Ogun East Senatorial candidate, formally resigned from the party in a letter dated August 7, 2026.

The resignation was addressed to the APC state chairman through the Chairman of his Ward 3 in Sagamu Local Government Area, with a copy sent to the Secretary to the Ogun State government. Sosanwo's exit has sparked anxiety within the party, particularly in the Remo axis, as it may lead to further resignations from his supporters and political associates.

His decision reportedly stems from months of dissatisfaction over unresolved grievances related to the party’s internal processes, including post-primary disputes and perceived marginalization of party stalwarts.
