Fadairo Resigns from Politics After Endorsing PDP Candidate

Fadairo, an 83-year-old politician, has formally resigned from partisan politics after endorsing the PDP governorship candidate, Adebutu, during a meeting at Ibara House Estate, Abeokuta. This endorsement has sparked significant controversy within the APC, where Fadairo's actions were deemed anti-party conduct.

Following his endorsement, the APC leadership criticized him, and he, along with other party members, was suspended for alleged breaches of party constitution and anti-party activities. The suspension was ratified during a general meeting of the APC members in Ibogun Ward on June 11, 2026.

Fadairo stated that he would now assume a neutral role, focusing on community development without partisan inclinations. He emphasized that his decision was made after deep reflection and was devoid of hidden motives or external pressure, marking a significant shift in his political engagement after decades of active participation.
