Ogun Residents Demand Action on Persistent Refuse Heaps

Residents and traders in Lotto community, located in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, have expressed their frustration over the accumulation of refuse that has been present for approximately two years. The lack of waste evacuation trucks has exacerbated the situation, leading to environmental and health concerns.

Traders like Mrs. Okoro reported that the refuse has deterred customers and created unsanitary conditions, with some individuals using the area for urination and defecation. Other residents, including Peter and Chinedu, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the pollution and health risks associated with the refuse.

Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya, acknowledged the issue and stated that the government would work with the community development association to find a lasting solution.
