Ogun Police Neutralize Kidnap Gang, Recover Cash and Firearms

On June 18, 2026, the Ogun State Police Command executed an operation that led to the neutralization of two suspected kidnappers and the recovery of a single-barrel gun, cash amounting to N2,200,000, and a mobile phone. This operation was part of the command's anti-kidnapping efforts following the abduction of a victim on June 11, 2026, in Ogb Village, Ogun State.

Upon receiving the report of the kidnapping, the police deployed their anti-kidnap unit, utilizing intelligence and surveillance tactics to pressure the gang for the victim's release. The victim was released unharmed due to these efforts.

During the operation to apprehend the suspects, a gun duel ensued, resulting in the death of the two suspects. Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the special unit for their professionalism and effectiveness, assuring the public of continued efforts to combat kidnapping and violent crime in the state.
