Ogun West Group Backs Adebutu, Rejects Yayi's Candidacy

The Ogun West Concern Stakeholders group publicly rejected the candidacy of Olamilekan Adeola, also known as Yayi, for the Ogun State governorship election, expressing support for Hon. Ladipupo Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

During a conference at Teted Hall in Ilaro, Yewa South, the group, led by Hakeem Adetunji, criticized Adeola's track record and questioned his indigeneship, stating that he had not contributed positively to the region in past elections. Adetunji highlighted that Adeola's lineage does not trace back to Ogun State and accused him of abandoning the community.

The group, which claims 5,000 members, emphasized the importance of local representation and expressed their commitment to supporting Adebutu, citing historical grievances against Adeola's previous candidacies in 2011 and 2015. They declared that they would not support a candidate who does not share their historical background and vision for the region.
