Ohanaeze Ndigbo Rejects Suspension Calls for Umahi

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, led by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Prof. Chibuikeya Achoakawa, has rejected calls for the suspension of Minister David Umahi following the death of Mari Habila.

The organization described the demand for Umahi's suspension as premature and politically motivated, contrary to principles of due process. They emphasized the need for a thorough and transparent investigation into Habila's death, which they deemed tragic.

Ohanaeze condemned the politicization of the incident, highlighting that every Nigerian life is valuable and justice should not be influenced by political, ethnic, or religious considerations. They urged political leaders and youth organizations to allow relevant authorities to complete their investigation without interference.

Furthermore, they commended Umahi for supporting a post-mortem examination to determine the actual cause of Habila's death and extended condolences to the deceased's family, particularly to his father, Mr. Tanko Habila.
