Tinubu Supports Umahi Amid Controversy Over Nurse's Death

Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, revealed in a video that some individuals lobbied President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remove him from his position following the death of Habila, his personal nurse, on June 27 at his home in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area, Ebonyi State. Umahi stated that President Tinubu encouraged him to continue his work on road infrastructure instead of succumbing to political pressure.

The circumstances surrounding Habila's death have sparked controversy, with conflicting reports about her role and the cause of death. While the Nigeria Police have called for an autopsy to determine the cause, Habila's parents have opposed this, citing cultural beliefs.

The police have not yet announced the results of their investigation. Umahi expressed his surprise at the political maneuvering surrounding the death of a valued worker, emphasizing that he should not be sacked for such an incident.
