Ohanaeze Urges Completion of South-east Projects by 2031

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide called on the federal government to ensure the completion of all ongoing Renewed Hope infrastructure projects in the South-east before the end of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in 2031. The organization acknowledged the transformation of federal road infrastructure in the region under the supervision of Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi.

Ohanaeze described the current federal investment in South-east roads as one of the most significant interventions in decades, recalling the last comprehensive federal attention to the region's road network was during the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) intervention in 1996. They commended President Tinubu for approving the 150-kilometre Oba–Nnewi–Uga–Ihube Federal Road Project, which aims to reconnect communities in Anambra and Imo states.

The organization also mentioned several ongoing projects, including the reconstruction of the Enugu–Onitsha Expressway and the Makurdi–9th Mile–Enugu Highway dualisation project, which are expected to transform the region’s economy.
