Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to enhance his 2027 re-election strategy by focusing on measurable achievements and leaders with proven performance records, in light of the recent Osun state governorship election results. The statement, signed by Deputy President General Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and Acting Secretary General Prof. Chibuikeya Achokawa, indicated that the election outcome reflects a growing voter consciousness regarding accountability and effective leadership.

The organization noted the victory of incumbent governor Ademola Adeleke as a warning to political parties that traditional political structures alone may not ensure electoral success. Ohanaeze commended Senator Dave Umahi, Minister of Works, for his impactful work on federal highways in the Southeast, highlighting the need for leaders to demonstrate clear records of service.
