Ojudu Demands Clarity on N96bn Akure-Ado Road Project

Former Senator Babafemi Ojudu, representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District, has called for urgent clarification from the federal government concerning the Akure-Ado-Ekiti dual carriageway project. Ojudu expressed concern that, despite the project being approved and funded for dual carriageway construction, only one rehabilitated carriageway has been delivered.

He noted that the project, originally valued at approximately N30 billion and awarded to Dantata & Sawoe in November 2019, faced cancellation before being re-awarded on March 29, 2023, for about N95.98 billion. The project was flagged off in May 2023, with sections awarded to Samchase Nigeria Limited and Horizon Construction Company Limited for N46.68 billion and Kopek Construction Limited for N49.29 billion, respectively.

Ojudu questioned whether the project specifications had been altered to a single carriageway without public notification and demanded details on the project's completion status and the contractors' current engagement.
