Collins C. Okoh to Adapt 'Kito' for the Screen

Collins C. Okoh has been appointed by Blues & Hills Pictures Ltd to adapt Onyeka Nwelue’s novel "Kito" for the screen, with principal photography scheduled to commence in February 2027.

Okoh will take on the roles of both screenwriter and director, responsible for translating the novel into a feature-length screenplay and leading the film’s artistic direction throughout production. Okoh, who began his professional screenwriting career in 2017, has an extensive filmography that includes notable works such as "Omo Ghetto: The Saga" and "She Must Be Obeyed." He received a nomination for Best Movie Writer at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in 2024 and was named among YNaija's Top 100 Most Impactful People in Film in 2025.

Okoh expressed his excitement about adapting "Kito," emphasizing its exploration of identity and belonging. Nwelue praised Okoh's storytelling abilities, stating he is the ideal filmmaker for this adaptation.
