Okpebholo Defends Tinubu, Warns Against Insecurity Sponsors

On Tuesday, Edo State Governor Mondai Okpebholo addressed the issue of insecurity in Nigeria, warning sponsors to desist from their actions that undermine President Bola Tinubu's leadership. Speaking at the flag-off of the Progress Congress campaign for the Edo South senatorial district at Urhokpota Hall in Benin City, Okpebholo condemned the recent increase in kidnappings and banditry, asserting that such actions do not guarantee political positions.

He stated, "No vacancy in Aso Rock," emphasizing that the opposition's failure to govern effectively leads to chaos. Okpebholo praised Tinubu's previous leadership and the impact of fuel subsidy removal on ongoing projects across the country.

He commended the APC candidates for the upcoming council elections, aiming for 2.5 million votes in the 2027 general elections. Deputy Governor Denni Idahosa also praised Okpebholo's commitment to youth inclusion in governance, while APC state chairman Jarrett Teneb described the party as a viable political platform in Edo State.
