Olalekan Adebiyi: Pioneer of Nigeria's Road-Building Revolution

Olalekan Adebiyi is the founder of Laralek Ultimate Construction, which has emerged as Nigeria's leading indigenous infrastructure firm. He has constructed over 1,000 roads and multiple major bridges across the country, competing with multinational construction companies.

Adebiyi's engineering philosophy, known as the Three Es—Endurance, Excellence, and Economy—ensures that roads are built to withstand heavy traffic rather than just meet minimum standards. Notable projects include the 10-lane Oshodi-Murtala Muhammed International Airport Road and the Ayobo-Ipaja road network.

His contributions to the field have earned him an Honorary Fellowship from the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the highest honor for non-engineers. Laralek Ultimate Construction employs over 2,000 individuals, including more than 350 qualified Nigerian engineers, contributing to the development of technical capacity in the country.

Adebiyi is recognized for his preference for letting his work speak for itself, focusing on the impact of well-constructed roads on daily commuters.
