Oba Akanbi Bars Lawmaker Mudashiru from Palace Access

Oba Abdulroshe Akanbi of Iwo, Osun State, has officially barred Lukman Mudashiru, the current lawmaker representing Iwo Federal Constituency, from entering his palace. This decision, announced via a statement on Akanbi's Facebook page, stems from accusations that Mudashiru has neglected the traditional institutions of Iwo.

The Oba emphasized that Mudashiru, who was elected on the platform of the People's Democratic Party, has failed to represent the interests of Iwo's traditional head and the community at large. Furthermore, Akanbi has publicly declared his support for Ayodeji Bello, an Iwo indigene seeking the Accord Party's ticket for the 2027 general elections.

The Oba's remarks highlight a significant rift between traditional leadership and elected officials, as he insists that Mudashiru's stewardship has not met the expectations of the Iwo community. The situation reflects ongoing tensions within local politics and traditional authority in Osun State.
